New development and/or building construction needs to meet specific regulations.
The review of these projects and issuing of permits gives opportunity to ensure:
    • the project meets zoning and official plan requirements,
    • all construction meets current building standards, and
    • other agencies with jurisdiction have opportunity to review the project.

Specific departments conduct these reviews:

    • The building department reviews all construction projects within the Township.
      Enforcement of the building code protects the health, safety and welfare of the public.
    • The planning department reviews projects to make sure they meet zoning and official plan requirements.

If you require any of the following compliance letters, you need to submit the request in writing and include a cheque for the appropriate fee(s) below, made payable to the Township of Otonabee-South Monaghan.

Work Orders/Building Permit issuance/inspections $90.00

Zoning Compliance $90.00

Survey Compliance Review (current and legible) $112.00

Site Plan Compliance Review $112.00

Tax Certificate $50.00
