Waste Transfer Station Closure - Mar. 29, 2025

Environment Canada has issued a freezing rain warning with up to 30 hours of freezing rain forecast for our area.  It is highly probable that we will be dealing with icy roads along with widespread power outages and downed trees. 

Due to this impending weather event the transfer station will be closed on Saturday, March 29, 2025.   The Transfer Station will open on Monday, March 31, 2025 – regular hours.

Declaration of Significant Weather Event - March 28 - 31, 2025

The Township of Otonabee-South Monaghan is declaring a “Significant Weather Event” in accordance with the Township’s level of service policy and O. Reg 366/18 section 16.9 amending O.Reg 239/02 from Friday, March 28, 2025 until Monday, March 31, 2025.

Please be advised that the OSM Fire Department does not seek donations/fundraise and

the OSM Food Cupboard does NOT solicit donations or fundraise over the phone.

Do not provide any personal information or financial information to callers requesting these donations.

 

Half Load Restrictions

Half load restrictions will be in effect from
midnight on March 1, 2025 - April 30, 2025
on all OSM Township roads.

Persons contravening this regulation will be prosecuted under Section 122 of the Highway Traffic Act.
