The Township has many opportunities to be active and involved with other members of the community.

There are a variety of activities, programs, and sports to participate in. These options are organized through various groups within the Township.

Bingo is currently on hold while the renovations are taking place at the OMCC. (Summer 2023)

Bingo is fundraiser organized by the Keene Lions Club.

Bingo takes place:

  • Wednesday nights at 6:00 p.m.
    (doors open at 5:30 p.m.)

in the Gold Room at the Otonabee Memorial Community Centre (OMCC) located at 24 Fourth Street, Keene

 

Keene Curling Club

The Keene Curling Club has four (4) leagues that play at the Otonabee Memorial Community Centre (OMCC) in Keene.

Cordwood Bonspiel

This event was organized in the mid 1960's by the Keene Lions Club, and has continued as an annual bonspiel for children ages 4 to 13. The children use wooden stones provided by the organization and it is held on the hockey ice surface at the OMCC. The event takes place during the last weekend of March before the ice is removed for the season.

In the Township of Otonabee-South Monaghan, there are two minor hockey organizations with recreational and competitive hockey.

The Township of Otonabee-South Monaghan does not prohibit ATV/ORV use on Township roads.

Pickleball is played in the hall at the Keene United Church located at 30 North Street, Keene ON.

Pickleball is a racquet sport that is a combination of badminton, tennis and ping pong.

at the Otonabee-South Monaghan Memorial Community Centre located at 24 Fourth Street, Keene, Ontario

Tuesdays: 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.
Wednesdays: 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.

Thursdays: 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM

Cost:
Ages 12 and under: $2 per player/hour
Ages 13 and over: $3 per player/hour

Public Skating

Public Skating is organized through the Recreation, Parks and Facilities department and sponsorships from community businesses.

Public Skating is always posted on the Community Events section of the Calendar.

Figure Skating

Figure Skating is offered locally through the Otonabee Skating Club.

There are several facilities and community centres in OSM Township. Some are maintained by the Township, and others are looked after by different organizations.
